On Monday, Leicester Crown Court was told call records and information retrieved from phones logged Ms Wandelt consistently asking Madeleine's mother for a genetic test throughout the past two years.

Madeleine's disappearance in 2007 - as a three-year-old during a family holiday in Portugal - is among the most covered investigations and continues to be unsolved.

'I Am Not Seeking Money'

Another voicemail, presented in court, recorded Ms Wandelt stating: "I understand I'm heavy and unattractive like Madeleine used to be, but I believe what I feel."

While a separate message of Ms Wandelt's one-way conversations with Mrs McCann's answerphone stated: "What if there is a small chance that I'm her? Then what? Isn't that significant for you?"

"I am not seeking money, I have a existence here in Poland, I only wish to discover," she added.

The tribunal was advised that by means of electronic messages, text messages and communications, Ms Wandelt demanded a genetic test, transmitted childhood photos to her phone in a attempt to demonstrate a similarity to Mrs McCann's vanished daughter, and stated to have "recollections" from a early life with the McCanns.

The investigator, an intelligence analyst with Leicestershire Police who compiled the evidence, advised the court there "showed no any answers" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt also reached out to acquaintances of the McCanns, as per the phone records.

On that date, Mr McCann responded to a phone call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, saying she had "the wrong phone."

During that incident Ms Wandelt recorded a voicemail on Mrs McCann's voicemail declaring "I won't give up and I intend to demonstrate my claim."

The court heard the co-defendant struck up a connection online with Ms Wandelt prior to joining her on a appearance to the McCanns' home in the county in December 2024.

Call logs showed Mrs Spragg had communicated using WhatsApp to Mrs McCann to express the media had portrayed Ms Wandelt as "mentally unstable" but that she deserved to be treated respectfully in the time before the trip to the village, that area, in that winter.

The court was told message exchanges between the two accused, in last November, discussing trying to acquire Mrs McCann's genetic material from her garbage or from cutlery at a eating establishment.

"We need to assert ourselves," Mrs Spragg told Ms Wandelt.

On the evening of the trip to their home, Mrs Spragg sent a text which said: "We are sat outside the McCanns' residence with our vehicle dark resembling private investigators. I wanted to do this with Peter Andrew I hadn't anticipated I would be engaged in this with the McCanns."

The proceedings continues.
