Indianapolis Colts Take On Atlanta Falcons in Berlin – Week 10 NFL Action

Guten tag, football enthusiasts. Wie gehts? Alles klar I hope on this excellent morning kickoff to the tenth week coming straight outta Deutschland. The Olympiastadion in Berlin to be precise where at 8.30am CST/9.30am EST and 2.30pm GMT the mighty Indianapolis Colts (seven wins and two losses) take on the Falcons (3-5). The fifth game played on soil in Germany and the initial in the nation’s capital.

Pre-match Highlights

As sparkly jackets go that is an absolute belter from Katarina Witt on the opening flip. A minor slip from the broadcast team there as we hear “who won the toss?” from the commentator with an accidentally live microphone.

Well, the coin toss went to Indianapolis and have chosen to get the ball first. Daniel Jones and company will be setting up shortly. Will the QB bounce back after a rough one in their last game?

Not to be outdone the singer belting out the Star Spangled Banner has some of the largest shoulder pads you are bound to notice. The fashion picks are impressive today. We are almost underway after a choral number for the German anthem. Classy.

Opening Period Gameplay

Colts 0-0 Falcons 13:30, 1st quarter

Here we go! And we have early drama after the Colts running back receives a short throw, sweeps out for 15 yards to the right then loses the ball … only for his center to recover the fumble with the ball retrieval. Colts are in Falcons territory already.

Colts 0-0 Falcons 10:51, 1st quarter

And the drama keeps coming as the Indianapolis attempts a fourth-down conversion. The risk doesn't work out as the wide receiver fails to catch a fastball from Jones. Prior to the failed attempt Jessie Bates put a massive tackle on tight end Mo Alie-Cox. The Falcons have come out fighting on defense as they attempt to end their three-game losing streak. Following that, Sauce Gardner makes his first appearance!

Touchdown Recap

First score: Colts lead 6-0 at 8:36

Was that a missed touchdown by Kyle Pitts? The tight end drops a clanger, he was wide open but the ball just swishes through his hands. That moment reflects the high draft pick's professional journey to date.

A disappointing start but it only deteriorates for the Atlanta as they turn over possession to the Colts on the 23-yard mark. The Falcons quarterback is sacked and can’t keep hold of the ball.

A nifty 22-yard run from the Colts receiver sets the running back up to easily run for a touchdown on the following play. Kicker Michael Badgley misses the point after attempt. Mistake.

TOUCHDOWN! Colts 6-7 Falcons 6:07, 1st quarter

Penix Jr puts the fumble behind him by leading Atlanta on a long drive for a score of their own. The wide receiver makes some substantial catches to put them in the red zone then the seas part for the running back to run untouched into the end zone through the heart of the field for a 13-yard gain. He completes the drive for a short scoring run of his own. Advantage Atlanta.
