Reigning Sabalenka Wins Back-to-Back WTA Top Player Awards.

The tennis star in action
The Belarusian player concluded the year with an impressive twenty-three to three Grand Slam win-loss record.

World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been selected the Women's Tennis Association player of the year for a second successive season.

The twenty-seven-year-old secured four tournament victories – the highest tally on the circuit – including successfully defending the US Open in September against Amanda Anisimova to earn her fourth Grand Slam singles title.

A Season of Dominance

Over the course of the tour, Sabalenka played in a tour-best nine championship matches, with defeats coming against Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.

The star player also won the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open as the clay season progressed. She remained the entire year as the world number one, concluding 2025 on top of the rankings for a second successive year.

This past summer, she achieved the status of being the first athlete to top 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams in 2015.

Historic Achievements

Sabalenka finished the season with a sixty-three to twelve win-loss record, and earned a historic eleven million pounds in earnings.

She received almost 80% of the votes cast by global tennis journalists.

On 28 December, she is scheduled to face 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match in a bid to "help bring women's tennis to a new level".
