Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Tragic Car Crash

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, Nigerian authorities stated on Wednesday night. The 36-year-old was caught in a vehicular crash in the Lagos area on Monday, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his close associates.

Healing from Light Wounds

The sports star had remained in the hospital while recovering from minor injuries, his management team had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.

“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.

Remembering the Victims

The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the tragic loss of his two close friends.”

His release from the hospital follows the sports world had expressed condolences for the champion in the aftermath of the devastating accident.
